Activities

Here at Pendlebury Court, we understand the importance of offering a variety of activities for people to access throughout the day.

We have been listening to feedback from residents and families, we are introducing new activities for 2013. We are keen to develop the garden and patio area into both a relaxing and sensory experience, where the residents that enjoy gardening can pass on their green fingered skills to others.

Our Activities Coordinator has organised some fantastic events throughout 2013 including coffee mornings, Halloween party and Christmas fair, where residents, families and staff all came together to make the days a great success.

People with dementia should be encouraged to maintain the activities they enjoy and continue to be active. However we know that peoples concentration, communication and personality can change so activities are tailored to people’s individual needs.

We offer aromatherapy, reminiscence groups, armchair aerobics, crosswords, sing-alongs, pamper days, baking, embroidery, breakfast clubs, gardening, group and 1:1 activities.

We also get out and about in the local town or further afield. We are looking for some volunteers to help us get more involved in our local community. We all like some retail therapy from time to time and enjoy a walk in the local park, so our aim is to try and involve more of our residents in these activities.

Some of the regular entertainers will be back to as we know how much our residents enjoy a good old sing- a- long and dance.

We will be sure to give you regular updates on our activities and new events.

Testimonials

"We were really anxious before Mum came to the home but we needn't have worried as she is in good hands. The staff took the time to explain everything to us, we didn't feel rushed to make a decision and we were shown round the home."
